Simchah Compass (Budget Insights Feature)
The Simchah Spending Compass is designed to empower families by providing clear insights into what typical simchah-related spending looks like, giving them the ability to control their expenses more effectively. By benchmarking current expenses against community norms and historical data, families will quickly recognize overspending trends and adjust their budgets accordingly. This tool not only tracks and categorizes simchah expenses but also helps users identify early what they need to save up for, ensuring they are financially prepared for future celebrations while maintaining sustainable spending habits. Integrate a dedicated Simchah Tracking feature within our Budget Insights module to empower users with enhanced financial visibility for their celebratory events. This feature will track and compare simchah-related expenditures (e.g., weddings, bar mitzvahs, and other joyous events) against allocated budgets, enabling families to plan more effectively. Key Features: Expense Tracking: Log and categorize all simchah-related expenses for a comprehensive view. Comparative Analysis: Automatically compare actual spending with historical data and recommended budget ranges. Visual Dashboards: Intuitive graphs and charts to highlight trends, overspending alerts, and potential savings. Budget Recommendations: Tailored insights and tips based on past spending patterns and community best practices. Benefits: Enhanced transparency for planning and managing simchah expenses. Empowerment through data-driven budgeting, leading to more sustainable celebrations. Support for the community in achieving financial balance without sacrificing the joy of simchah. This roadmap item aligns with our commitment to providing actionable financial insights and fostering financial literacy within our community.

"Re-engagement" A bot to attempt to reengage slack users who have become inactive
Re-engagement Requirements Detect when Slack users become inactive Send them a bot message to reengage them somehow (automatically link a thread with lots of activity, the code for finding such a thread already exists) If they don’t engage from the bot message after X time, let’s try engaging them via email. What should be in the email? Idk. Maintain a dynamo table of users and their activity for reporting After some time, if they don’t engage via email or slack, send message that the account is being marked as inactive and will be reviewed for deletion. Extra credit: Right now, every time someone joins the Slack, I manually personally message them, welcome them, and ask them how they found out about us. Can we automate that to come from my account? I only know how to do it from a bot.

Automated Grocery Planner
Put in your grocery list Put in your preferences like: How much savings would it be worth it to go to an additional store What are your preferred stores What membership clubs are you in: costco, etc. Preferred brands Fetch current prices Crowdsource from users correcting pricing inaccuracies Generates a list of which stores to go to and what to buy at each store. Maybe to help you not overbuy you have to upload your receipts to prove you didn’t buy anything not on the list or else you lose access to the app for X days.
