MCP server for Kesef Compass + YNAB (agent-driven transaction categorization and reconciliation)
Build an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that exposes read and write access to both Kesef Compass and YNAB, so agents (Claude, Cursor, other MCP clients) can perform real bookkeeping work directly on the user's data.
What it would enable:
Split transactions (e.g., a Costco run that includes groceries, household, and simchah items)
Categorize transactions using the synced Kesef Compass categories and YNAB categories
Reconcile accounts against uploaded or imported bank statements (flag missing/mismatched transactions)
Review-and-approve workflows: the agent proposes edits, the user approves before anything is written
Why it matters: categorizing and reconciling is the most tedious part of budgeting. An MCP server would let AI agents do the drudgery with full context from both systems — community-normalized categories from Kesef Compass plus the user's actual budgets in YNAB — instead of the user clicking through every transaction by hand.
